Reality of fast food

Interesting comparison of food shown in the menu and the food served to the customer.
On the left is the Menu photograph of the food and on the right is the actual food served to the customer.

  1. This has always been a pet peeve of mine. Anyone know how they get away with it?

  2. Yeah, we keep buying their crap, so they keep giving us crap. Plain and simple.

  3. Do you really expect those nosepickers to create a work of art in 5 seconds at minimum wage? It would take me 20 minutes to get those tortilla chips arranged so perfectly then hopefully the toppings wouldn't mess it up. But really I completely agree, when I open the wrapper I'm actually expecting something not very appealing, and usually surprised because it's worse than I expected. While I'm at it, I have no other place to gripe about this: Why does Olive Garden give you multiple plates that are each at least 2 feet in diameter to try and squeeze onto those undersized tables? Make the plates smaller, I won't care that they look normal.

  4. In California, Arizona and Nevada, In-N-Out Burger strives to make their burgers look just like the advertising.

The aesthetically-pleasing burger would be "smiling." Co-workers would spot bad-looking burgers before they went out. We usually had to remake burgers that didn't "smile".

  5. In-N-Out burger is the bomb. Each time we take a trip to Vegas we make it a point to stop there and eat. I can't wait until they expand a few states east so we can have it in Texas.

  7. it is hard to make food look like art. I used to do catering work. I only meet two ppl who could actually do it fast.

  9. a bit like the beautiful, smiling models they use to advertise things compared to the regular looking uglies who actually consume it.
