Goodman, appearing Wednesday on the ``Nevada Newsmakers'' television show, said, ``In the old days in France, they had beheading of people who commit heinous crimes.
``You know, we have a beautiful highway landscaping redevelopment in our downtown. We have desert tortoises and beautiful paintings of flora and fauna. These punks come along and deface it.
``I'm saying maybe you put them on TV and cut off a thumb,'' the mayor added. ``That may be the right thing to do.''
Goodman also suggested that whippings or canings should be brought back for children who get into trouble.
``I also believe in a little bit of corporal punishment going back to the days of yore, where examples have to be shown,'' Goodman said.
``I'm dead serious,'' said Goodman, adding, ``Some of these (children) don't learn. You have got to teach them a lesson, and this is coming from a criminal defense lawyer.''
``They would get a trial first,'' he added.
Another panelist on the show, Howard Rosenberg, a state university system regent, responded by saying that cutting off the thumbs of taggers won't solve the problem and Goodman should ``use his head for something other than a hat rack.''

You know what, Oscar has the right to say what he said. I think he's right. Although they should cut off the entire hand, that way they won't be able to old the spray paint can. The idiot that wants Oscar hung needs to check himself before he gets himself hung.
And mizzmolina who thinks graffiti is good because it's part of the Vegas culture needs to pack up and get the hell out of town. Just because it was accepted in the past and this person probably participated in tagging once or twice probably needs to have his/her hands and arms cut off up to the elbow. That way she isn't able to type such nonsense on a computer.
Tagging is a ridiculous crime that has no meaning whatsoever. Even the gangstas...or what these kids are is gangsta wannabes are just tagging to drive by the next day and point and laugh. Real gangs to tag any more. They are too busy dealing with their businesses. That's right businesses. Be it drugs or weapons or whatever, tagging is so 1980s and it's a dying art. Some is art but scribbling a couple letters in a retarded script isn't art and it doesn't prove anything.
If someone wants to tag something, come find me and I'll rip your arms off and shove the paint can right up your azz.
