Plitvicka Jezera National Park in Croatia is one of Earth's jewels. This mountain valley holds many large emerald lakes, each of which drains into the next in spectacular series of waterfalls. The whole valley is heavily vegetated and is so inundated with water that it would be practically impassible if it weren't for the extensive network of wooden walkways built for the national park. (I may have posted this a couple years ago but it’s worth a repost.)
